- What does the valve on a coffee bag do, and do I need it?
- The valve is a one-way vent that lets roasting CO₂ escape without letting air or moisture in. You need it if you pack freshly roasted coffee (within days of roasting). For nuts, spices and dry goods a bag without a valve is enough.
- Which size suits packing 250 g or 1 kg of coffee?
- It depends on grind and bean density, but as a rough guide: 10×15×3 cm for samples and around 100 g, 14×22×4 to 16×26×4 cm for around 250 g, 20×30×5 cm for roughly half a kilo, and 23×35×6 cm and above for a kilo. We recommend testing a sample bag before a large order.
- What is the difference between a window bag and a clear-front bag?
- A window bag has a small clear opening (a strip or square) showing part of the contents while the rest stays opaque and shields the coffee from light. A clear-front bag has a fully transparent front with a kraft or silver back — more product visibility, but more light exposure too.
